Our hire bikes start from as little as £17 for an adult. Every hire includes a helmet, map and lock. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Want to hire a bike today? Give us a call and we’ll let you know our availability.
We are the only hire centre on The Granite Way with direct safe trail access! We also have free parking on site and a great little cafe offering a range of locally made refreshing hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Where possible, please email us at info@devoncyclehire.co.uk with the following details so we can make sure we reserve a suitable sized bike for each rider:
- number of bikes
- mountain bike or e-bike
- heights of each rider and any specific wants, such as gents or ladies bike
- baby seats / trailers required and which bike to attach to
Alternatively, you can ring us on 07522 886550 between 9.30am – 5pm to book, please have the above details ready if possible.
We do not charge a deposit or booking fee!
Opening times
We are open 7 days a week during all school holidays (except Christmas).
April, May & June: Thursday to Monday 10am – 4.30pm
July & August: 7 days a week 10am – 5pm
September & October: Thursday to Monday 10am – 4.30pm
November to March Closed
Make the most of your day by bike
The Granite Way, an old railway track, is an 11 mile trail between Okehampton and Lydford along the north western edge of Dartmoor. The path is easy cycling, traffic free and surfaced throughout.
Our staff can reccommend points of interest, places to eat and drink to make the most of your day. If you have the time, why not plan a trip to the National Trust’s Lydford Gorge.
Have a break… or get an energy boost!
We have our own in-house café with freshly ground coffee, local speciality teas and luxury hot chocolates all made to order. There is also a range of cold drinks, locally made ice creams, cakes and snacks. With seating on site to rest up and nice areas for a picnic or stroll. It’s a lovely location and reason why people enjoy cycling

Safety
All our bikes are maintained to a very high standard. All bikes and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between hire.
Bikes for sale
We have a good selection of new bikes and well maintained ex-hire bikes for sale. This includes e-bikes, mountain bikes and children’s bikes. Please give us a call to find out more.
Bike servicing
Andrew, owner and qualified bike mechanic, offers friendly and affordable servicing and repairs. He only charges for the work that needs doing.
